Another instalment of my Dorset Diaries; and why not, there is just so much to enjoy in Dorset after all .
This time around I have a little hideaway on the Weymouth coast, Ace Escapes.
A delightful Victorian apartment nestled along a quiet avenue within walking distance of the beach and the heart of Weymouth town.
Ace Escapes is the joint venture of Jayne and her partner Nicola who are hoping to establish a portfolio of perfect places to stay – “putting our heart and soul into finding perfect places to stay” is the couples mission statement.
The Weymouth apartment is situated in a traditional Victorian house just moments from the fun and bustle of the Victorian promenade of Weymouth beach.
With restaurants, cafes, shops and activities on offer in abundance, Weymouth is a great holiday spot for the family and Ace Escapes is likely to be the ideal location to base yourselves just moments from the action.
On valentines weekend I was lucky enough to get my hands on the keys to Ace Escapes Weymouth apartment.
Freshly decorated, the apartment offers comfortable accommodation for 4- 6 people with 2 double rooms and a bijou twin, perfect for little ones. The living space is bright and fresh with an occasional nod to the sea-side location.
We arrived on a stormy Saturday afternoon and made ourselves comfortable. Our friends arrived shortly after and we set to getting dinner cooked in the spacious kitchen.
The lounge/dinner has a table for 6 (comfortable for 4 adults and 2 littles) and is a bright spacious room.
As it was Valentines weekend, I decided to set a romantic table with white linen, sparkling glass votives and pastel tulips.
We cooked comfortably for the 4 of us and then had a delicious supper together around the table.
Storm Dennis raged outside and the sea spray lashed the windows, but we were undeterred. The apartment is beautifully warm and secure. We continued to eat drink and talk into the small hours.
Once we had tired ourselves out, we headed off to bed. We had the attic room which was bright and spacious.
Storm Dennis did his best to disturb our nights sleep, however we managed to get some rest.
In the morning we had planned a cooked breakfast but were simply too full from the night before. Instead we slowly started the day, packed up and eventually headed off home.
The apartment is a quiet haven from the distractions of daily life; no wifi here ( but 4g signal if you can’t be without) There are books to read and board games to play so this is somewhere to reconnect. Perfect for young families and those wanting a base to explore Weymouth and the surrounding areas from.
If you are looking for somewhere to stay during the children’s holidays or a bolthole on the Dorset coast, Ace Escapes Weymouth could be the ideal spot for you.
