Home Haul | Zara Home | TK Maxx & Homesense

Nesting is something I do quite well. For a saigattarius it’s quite unusual, but it’s official, I’m a bit of a home body. I like nothing more then a good route around TK Maxx, Homesense and when I am flush, Zara Home. So here’s a little look at a few recent purchases I have made; a Home Haul if you will.

Zara Home

It turns out this place is a bit of a secret bargain den. Especially if you visit at the end of the sales period. I recently stumbled into the store on Regent’s street with absolutely no intention of making a purchase, looking more for inspiration then to part with cold hard cash. Alas I came away with these tasty morsels:

King size bedspread

She’s a bit of a delight. Candy floss pink, delicately embossed and with an intricate trim. Wonderfully heavy cotton and an absolute steal at £38

Cotton Sateen Pillow Slips

Ive been wanting to update my bedding for some time now. I was inspired by the layered colours of pink white and taupe. I had found a few images on Pinterest and realised I’d have to put items together rather then being able to buy this as a bed set in it’s own right. So this is what sales are absolutely perfect for.

I found these 2 cotton sateen pillow slips in a perfect taupe colour. They are 200 thread count so reasonably soft, not the softest, but they’ll do. Both for £12. Bargain

Pink Velvet Pillows

These 2 pillows are just dreamy. I homed in on them as soon as I walked into the store. I love the vintage pink colour and the delicate shell buttons on the back. They are perfect for my updated layered look. I was a little disappointed however when I got to the till. These were well discounted to just £4 each, however I had to pay extra if I wanted the cushion pad inside?! Since when? Call me old fashioned but if the cushion is displayed with the pad in it and priced up,  no separate or individually priced cushion pads to be seen ANYWHERE else in the shop, surely the cushion pad comes with it?! Anyway, arguing was futile, I had to accept defeat and part with another £3.99 per pad. Still at £7.99 I still think I was the real winner.

Taupe Linen Pillow

I bought this one to continue the layered theme. Equally disgusted at being charged separately for the pillow pad I parted with just £11 to take this little delight home.

And here is how the collection looks…

It’s not quite Pinterest worthy, but I feel it is a pretty update in time for the changing of the season, and certainly makes me feel brighter each time I look at it.

TK Maxx & Homesense

Ok, basically, the first step towards recovery is admitting you have a problem. My name is Amellia Mae and I’m addicted to shopping in TK Maxx & Homesense. It’s been 1 week since my last visit…

I love these stores. They are my own personal brand of heroine ( to quote Edward Cullen) I literally can’t go in without coming out with a purchase. Can anyone? These stores have everything. I think they are a bit Marmite, however, you either love or hate it, no in between. My mother usually waits outside such is her loathing for my favourite shopping mecca. I have questioned my paternity due to this unsettling situation!

I could continue in raptures about these stores but I’d best get on and tell you about my purchases.

Super fluffy fluffmiester cushion

Ok so i’m not entirely sure that’s what it’s actually called, but you see what I mean don’t you. I mean, it’s just so fluffy!

A favourite amongst seasoned Instagrammers and YouTubers everywhere, the fluffy fluffmiester is an essential item for the home office, preferably set on a lovely ghost chair, but anything reasonably instergramable will do. Of course I needed one.

At £29.99 not the cheapest item, but definitely worth it. I have sat with it constantly at my desk. It is deliciously warm and comfortable. Utility and beauty all rolled into one. (cat not included)

Design Prints

If you’ve ever seen a flat lay you’ll understand. I needed these. at £5.99 for a collection of 12 beautifully illustrated A4 cards, I just know I am going to have endless picture opportunities with these

Gold Mirrored Tray

With flat lays on my mind I couldn’t resist this adorable tray. It really is so pretty and also feels extremely well made and worth much more then it’s £12.99 price tag. I also feel it was a totally justifiable purchase in that it is useful. I have been storing makeup in it ever since I bought it, there’s space for more, you know, just in case I need more makeup!

Faux Hydrangea

I was always very dubious about faux flowers. However the quality has come on leaps and bounds over the years and I have been wanting to have an arrangement for some time now. I particularly love Hydrangea and grow several bushes in my garden, however I can never bring myself to cut them and bring them indoors. These lovely stems were just £2.99 each and look so realistic. They’re presently adorning my work desk but I suspect they’ll be moved about as my mood changes. This the beauty of them, they need little care and are quite literally happy to bloom anywhere!

Needlepoint style rug

This was one of my favourite finds. This delightful candy floss pink needlepoint style rug. It looks beautifully aged and is so on point ( no pun intended) with my personal interior styling preferences. It was also an absolute steal at just £79.99. I’m planning on ripping up the carpet imminently and painting the floor boards white. This rug will look even more adorable once that is done, although it’s pretty darn fantastic as it is.

And that concludes my confession. Or my home haul round-up. It’s a matter of perspective! A few tasty bits, the flavours enhanced by the wildly discounted prices. There’s something about that little red sale tag that gets my endorphins seriously going.

Until next time…
